SLAYTANIC HISTORY
Since I began playing music, I've always been regarded as being a metal musician by most people who know me. Truth is, I enjoy all types of music despite some genres growing on me over time. I really got into hip hop and rap music in the early 2000's when I heard the styles of Mobb Deep, ICP, Wu-Tang, CNN and other artists I took an interest in during the last of my high school years. I used to freestyle with people, but at the time never thought I would start making beats and rapping myself.
I started making beats for fun, as sort of a side project with my joke band Yetiface, but over time started to make more serious sounding beats that were more in the rap and hip-hop style, and eventually I began producing beats for local artists and collaborating on projects. After a while, I decided to do vocals on some tracks and ended up joining a local hardcore hip-hop group called Horror Torture Clikk, since I was producing some of their members material.
That is how Slaytanic came to be, and it was a musical path I'm glad I pursued. All of the bands and projects I was doing prior to that were metal based for the most part, and I felt that the Slaytanic stuff was a way for my voice to be heard more, and the lyrics were more audible for people to understand what I was saying, as opposed to the extreme metal vocal styles I had been accustomed to and known for. After recording the songs for the first album "Govern Your Mental", I performed a few live shows as Slaytanic and did a few music videos as well.
Slaytanic began in earnest in 2009, with some early demo materials which were never released until the Wolfpack Relics album in 2022. It was essentially a compilation of all my earlier materials. I felt it was a great way to portray a clear message, as I was really into conspiracy related materials and underground hip-hop stuff at the time, such as Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, and Payday Monsanto. In 2013 I recorded the Chakra Harmony E.P., which was meant to be a side project alias, but I also later released that under the Slaytanic catalogue in 2021 as opposed to having 2 rap projects going.
I look forward to creating more beats and writing more conspiratorial style albums in the future, whenever the time allows it and I am sure that the future Slaytanic albums will be the best ones yet.
