Thrash Metal

Cambridge, Ontario Canada

BAND BIO

Reign was a thrash metal band from Cambridge, Ontario Canada. The band wrote a few original songs, including "Reign" and "Devil Skin", but never got around to recording anything or releasing any albums, despite the intent to do so. Reign also learned some cover songs from bands like Metallica, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, and the Sex Pistols.

The band performed a couple of local battle of the band competitions, which amounted to the only live events performed by Reign. There exists video footage from the first show, which ended in violence and mayhem as the singer began spitting chunks of pig heart into the audience, which upset some members of the audience and led to a fight after the show. The event gave the band a sort of notoriety around town as a band to be on the watch for.

After some lineup changes for the second show, the band incorporated more punk rock elements to the thrash style, but after further lineup changes went back to its thrash roots. Reign began working writing songs for a debut album, taking on a Swedish melodic death metal influence, but unfortunately it never released and Reign disbanded around 1999.
